Happy December, Friends!
Somehow, we have made it to the last month of 2025.
This year has been a whirlwind, and we are finishing the year with some BIG things at the Lower Providence Community Library.
Introducing the Little Free Food Pantry!
You may have noticed a new fixture outside the library during your last visit: the Lower Providence Community Library Little Free Food Pantry! At the end of November, we introduced this new community service that will remain outside the library indefinitely.
Give what you can. Take what you need.
Open to anyone and everyone, the Little Free Food Pantry is here to help members of our community free from qualifiers and judgment.
To help us stock the Little Free Food Pantry, we will be accepting Food for Fines the first week in December, Monday, December 1, through Saturday, December 6. For every donation of a non-perishable, unopened, shelf-stable, unexpired food good (please no glass), we will waive $.25 of overdue fines from your library account. To participate in Food for Fines, donations must be brought inside to the circulation desk.
This event is for existing fines only - no credit, no cash, no replacements.
On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, tickets for our
Vibrant Vibes Holiday Raffle baskets go on sale!
Fill this holiday season with Vibrant Vibes by supporting the library and winning these amazing winter raffle baskets from the comfort of your home!
All the baskets were put together with love for the Lower Providence Community Library and all the joy that the winter season brings. Show your support for our “Vibrant Vibes” Winter Raffle by purchasing basket raffle tickets or making a donation to help support the library.
Was this my worst reading year ever?
Many of you may have noticed that, over the past couple of months, I haven't talked about what I'm reading. The truth is, I haven't read anything worth talking about. This year has been very challenging for me and my reading; nothing has held my interest or had me coming back to the pages. As it is already the beginning of December, I don't think I'll make my year-end reading goal (52 books), which hasn't happened to me in years.
I'm hoping this year is a fluke, and I will be able to pick up books and enjoy them again in 2026!
I hope you all have a happy and healthy holiday season!
Happy reading, and see you at the library!
