Construction Update

AllPlay installed the new EC shade sail over the last two Saturdays while school was closed to ensure the safety of all. The turf work on both playgrounds begins today, November 21, and is scheduled to be completed by Saturday, November 29, weather permitting, just in time to enjoy the fall temps.

Carpool Guideline Refresher- PLEASE READ

For everyone's safety and to improve carpool arrival and dismissal efficiency, we need all EC adults to stay in their cars when teachers approach. Drop-off and pick-up are not appropriate times for anything other than a brief check-in. During EC dismissal, teachers will help your child into the car. Please pull over to buckle your child in. If you need to speak with a teacher, please email them to schedule a phone conversation during rest time. Staying in your car allows for a shorter goodbye and is respectful to the adults waiting behind you.

In our ongoing effort to meet the needs of the children and the school, we expect prompt arrival and dismissal, yet understand that delays are sometimes unavoidable. Our arrival times are 8:30/8:45, and dismissals are at 12:30/12:45 and 2:30/2:45. This has been the school policy created by the HoS and approved by the school trustees in 2021. If you are late for arrival or dismissal, please message us in brightwheel so we can meet you at the double doors, where you can ring the doorbell.

Please know that teachers are told not to have lengthy conversations during carpool, through the playground fence, or at any other time, since it takes them out of the ratio. If you need to refresh your memory of the Community Expectation Agreement you signed when you enrolled 2025.26 academic year, please take a look at it here. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our drop-off timely and safe.

Episcopal School Sunday Celebration and Homily

One of the most successful ministries of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church was celebrated last Sunday, November 16, when the Head of School preached and shared the children's message at both services. You can read the homily here.

The 10:30 AM service was followed by a ribbon-cutting reception hosted by O'Donnell Snider Construction Corp to celebrate the completion of the church's $3 million scope of work that renovated the entrance, installed the Kegg organ, built the pavilion, updated the garden drainage, created the memorial garden, and much more, with no injuries!

A Celebration with St. Nicholas

Join the church on Sunday, December 7, from 9:30 to 10:15 AM, in the Parish Hall, to learn more about St. Nicholas. Hear his story, get crafty with Taylor Durr, our children's and youth minister, and be surprised by St. Nick's generosity that led to his notoriety as Santa Claus today.

Photos with Santa

The Heights Santa has an endearing ministry popping up at various locations and schools. When asked if he is the "real" Santa, he quickly whips out his sleigh driver's license as proof. When we asked how the St. Andrew's visit was going, he replied, "No one has had a meltdown, which is highly unusual! That's Montessori. Please feel free to read the brief essay included below, The Truth About Santa. It's a keeper.

Pictured is Hayes Pierce, the newest member of the St. Andrew's community, with big brother Jackson. Welcome to the world, Hayes, and many blessings to your growing family.

Who is hosting Ben the

Bunny for Thanksgiving?

Ben is a two-year-old Holland Lop rabbit who joined the Toddler One classroom this academic year. Ben is very social and snack-driven, and has the sweetest temperament. He is up to date on all vaccines and vet-approved to live at school or vacation with you in your home.

Ben loves exploring new environments and actively seeks social interactions with young children and adults alike. If your family would like to take Ben home for the weekend or a holiday school break, please get in touch with Ms. Elsa at toddler1@saesheights.org to coordinate pickup. He goes home with an eating guide, food pellets, puppy pads/bedding, and a crate, which is his home. We encourage you to take pictures to share Ben's adventures away from the classroom with our friends, as they are always curious to learn what Ben is up to when they are not at school.

Could it be Landon Will who takes Ben home? Seen here strolling Ben up and down the 2nd-floor hallway during play time in the parish hall.

Bring toys to school by Sunday, December 7

When we teach children about grace and courtesy, we nurture the foundation of a compassionate society. In our Montessori classrooms, we observe young children, even toddlers, helping and expressing kindness without being asked. During this season of giving, we invite you to model service to others. The Memorial Assistance Ministry (MAM) exists so that children may experience the joy of giving, not only of receiving. The toy receptacles will be outside at drop-off for your children to place their gifts for others inside.

Friday, December 5

10 AM -11 AM

Children are invited to wear seasonal PJs to ride the train around the parking lot. The new conductor will be sure to punch every ticket. Grown-ups are welcome, but not required to join. If you attend, you will be responsible for your children while you are on campus. The children will enjoy warm cocoa afterwards. Please park off-site to walk to this event. Regular Dismissal.

Friday, December 19

11 AM -12 PM

The sanctuary opens at 10:45 AM for seating. If your child sees you and prefers to sit with you, please come to the chancel steps to get them and return to your seats, as large events like these can be overwhelming for young children. Join us afterward for a tea party in the 2nd floor parish hall. The parking lot will be open for you to park for this event. Noon Dismissal.
