Hello fellow Alamo Ranch Neighbors,
Hello ARCA Neighbors
Happy Holidays to everyone! Thank you to those who participated in the food collection program we did last month. I know some families appreciated the food items here, and I donated the rest to the food bank.
The monument holiday decorations will finish going up this week. Armando and a student volunteer started putting them up last week, but the rain put a pause on that. Just reminding everyone that even though ours go up slower than neighboring HOAs, remember we do not hire a company to do this, and it saves us between $6000-8000 to have our maintenance person do it.
Our morning Grinch and evening Santa event is happening on December 13th (flyer below). Hope to see lots of kiddos out to see our fun characters. Our senior scholarship is now open. High school seniors looking to go to higher education are encouraged to apply. Depending on how much we raise outside of the $1000 approved by the board, the amount will be split between 1 and 3 winners. We won't be doing the Lights Alive spirit night due to a lack of participation in previous years, but we will do other spirit nights to help supplement the scholarship amount. Be on the lookout for those opportunities, or if you would like to make a donation to help give a college-bound student a helpful leg up, please let the office know. The committee looks for clear and thoughtful answers to the application questions and picks the winners based on a rubric. The winner will be announced at the March board meeting.
We will have a board meeting on December 17th to vote to approve our 2026 yearly budget and give updates from the November board meeting.
Last month, the board discussed the possibility of a name change for our community. We are Alamo Ranch Community Association, and we have the Alamo Ranch HOA and Alamo Ranch POA in our area, and there is an ARCA community in Colorado. The proposed change would be to either start a DBA with our pseudo name, The Grants of Alamo Ranch, OR vote to officially change our name next year (with a majority vote) at the annual meeting. This is just the beginning of the discussion to help lessen the confusion of POA meetings, phone calls to the office about access to our amenities, and overall marketing of our community. Please vote in the poll below to show the board if this is a welcome change that the community would be in favor of making in the future. We will not be voting on this at the meeting, but I will speak on the community's interest at the December meeting.
We do finally have a full board again, thanks to Kay Balzano for applying and the board approving her application.
Our positions are:
President: Jordan Wagner
Vice president: Greg Schmidt
Secretary: Gabrielle Mosqueda
Treasurer: Kay Balzano
Assistant secretary: Debbie Stocks
Deeds and restrictions: Angela Alfaro
Director at large: Donna Rose
We are excited and ready to serve the community. If you would like to serve on one of the committees, please reach out to me or the office. There are open spots on the VNAC and Scholarship committees. Hope everyone has a happy and safe month.
As always, if you have any questions/comments, please feel free to email me.
Jordan Wagner
Association President
