Interim Dean and Priest-in-Charge's Christmas Message
Dear Friends in Christ,
Very soon we will celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Christ into this world. Long ago, Angels appeared to shepherds, as they did to Mary and Elizabeth. They were told, “do not be afraid; for see – I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people.”
Can we dwell here for a moment? Can we let go of all the worries of the world, and of our lives? Can we hold open the possibility of good news of great joy for all the people here on earth?
This Christmas I invite us to quiet our minds and hearts, allowing the light of Christ to enter as the sun shines through a window, allowing us to bask in this light, inviting us to love and forgive, and seeing the goodness in and through each other.
For when the Christ child was born, nothing else mattered to those who gathered near, and to people with hope who long for the world to be bright. We wish you great joy this Christmas. Join us at St. John’s Cathedral to hear the angels sing.
God’s love and blessings,
Anne+
