Who We Are

Breakfast Club Cats (BCC) is a small, grass-roots cat rescue located in Essex, Maryland. We are a registered 501(C)3 Non-Profit organization and 100% volunteer operated!

Our founder and one-woman army, Alysia, is busy everyday checking feral colonies, providing TNR services, managing adoptions, organizing foster kitten care, and taking badly hurt cats for veterinary treatment.

What We Do

For a small operation of volunteers, BCC has a large impact in our local community:

• This year BCC has provided food, shelter, TNR services, and veterinary care to over 300 local cats and kittens in need.
• BCC placed over 40 adoptable cats in 2025, and at any time typically has over 10-15 cats in need of adoption!
• We provide permanent sanctuary to over 20 homeless, feral cats who are not good candidates for adoption.
• Alysia has assisted in many major trapping operations and works directly with several local TNR rescues.
• Street cats live a hard life. When injured cats and kittens are encountered, such as poor Hoppy, they are trapped and transported for veterinary treatment, including surgery as needed.
• BCC greatly improved its operations this summer with the addition of a much-needed shelter and enclosed "catio" to give our outdoor sanctuary cats room to roam.

This November Alysia was recognized by Show Your Soft Side as one of the three finalists for the prestigious Lori Ann Smyth Award! This accolade is a testament to her outstanding service, dedication, and passion for animal welfare.
