ONE COMBINED SUNDAY SERVICE
There will be one combined service at 10:00am on January 2 and January 10. These services will both be online and in-person.
THEOPUB
TheoPub is a group of GLBTQ+ and Ally folks, that has met up monthly for discussion and fellowship. The next gathering is at 6:30pm on January 3, at Postino’s (8479 S. Rural) for a conversation centered around “New Year’s Resolutions… Worth it or Not?” All are welcome. Please email David for details.
THE STORY YOU NEED TO TELL
Part book study, part writing workshop, "The Story You Need to Tell" will explore how to share and write our stories in ways that will lead to renewal, resilience, and well-being – even amid a pandemic or a cancer diagnosis. Facilitated by author Sandra Marinella, this course meets on Zoom on Mondays at 6:30pm, starting January 10 or Wednesdays at 10am, beginning January 12. Learn more/register
BROKE IN AMERICA
Broke in America is a new book study examining the many contributors to poverty and keeping it entrenched in our country. The authors have spent careers in dealing with the many roots and consequences of poverty and offer concrete steps communities and organizations can take to address real change. Shared books are now available through the office, local libraries or electronic versions. The Church & Society team will host discussion groups via Zoom on Tuesday, January 11 and 18 at 5:30pm. REMEMBERING REV. BERT LEWIS
On Saturday, January 15 at 2:00pm, we will come together to remember the life and ministry of Rev. Bert Lewis. Pastor Bert served at Dayspring UMC from 1984 until he entered retirement in 2000.
PUBLIC VACCINE CLINIC
We are hosting another public COVID vaccine clinic on Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 10am-4pm. Pfizer (Adult and pediatric/5+ doses),Moderna (initial doses and booster doses), and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will all be available. Walk-ins are welcome, no appointment needed.
2022 PLEDGES
If you have not yet made a pledge to the 2022 General Fund, you may still send in pledge cards to the church office or make a pledge online at www.dayspring-umc.org/pledge. Sharing your intention of giving will help the finance team plan expenditures during the upcoming year. Thank you for your donations to the ministries of Dayspring!

Also, boxed sets of 2022 offering envelopes are available in the narthex and the church office on Sundays and during church office hours.
NEW UPPER ROOMS AVAILABLE
The January/February Upper Room devotional is now available. Please contact the church office at (480) 838-1446 or by email if you would like a copy mailed to you. Copies are also available in the narthex on Sunday mornings.
STEPHEN MINISTRY
The winter holidays can be difficult for people who find themselves struggling in their personal lives; especially for those who have experienced loss or tragedy. Stephen Ministers are highly trained members of our congregation who listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support. The care they give is confidential, free, and very helpful.
