A collaboration between
the Maine Conference UCC
and The BTS Center

At Convocation 2018 (Growing by Half: Part-time Pastor, Full-time Church), we explored how churches with part-time clergy are thriving when pastors & laity rethink roles and reimagine possibilities. But those shifts have ripple effects for the rest of the church ecosystem when they're put into practice. So how are these vital congregations rethinking or repurposing other assets - from buildings to budgets, training resources and community partnerships - in ways that provide for sustainable, impactful ministry on every level?

If your community wants to reach the next level of navigating the comprehensive organizational challenges and opportunities of part-time pastoral leadership, we believe Convocation 2019 can be a transformative experience for you and your community. Much more to come ...
Location, title, and presenters will be announced at a later date. Stay tuned.

Windham Hill United Church of Christ will celebrate its 275th Anniversary beginning on December 14, 2018. We will be celebrating for the next year. The church was incorporated on December 14, 1743 as the Ecclesiastical Society of New Marblehead, Massachusetts. It became the First Congregational Church of Windham and then in 1962 took the new name, Windham Hill United Church of Christ. Our celebration will begin with the ringing of our historic church bell. We will ring it from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with different ringers taking their turn each hour and ringing the bell 22 or 23 times for a total of 275 rings over the 12 hours.
Mission Trip to Safe Passage, Guatemala
February 17 - 24, 2019
Our High School Youth Group, STARBURST, has been planning a Mission Trip through Safe Passage in Guatemala for over a year. Safe Passage is a school for children who work in the city dump, started by Hanley Denning, from Maine. Three of our Youth just dropped out, and we already had one spot open --- So we have four spots open for four teenagers age 15+. Best case scenario is a group of twelve (that is how many Safe Passage vans hold).
