Administration Backs Biofuels
Part of the “One Big Beautiful Bill” promoted by the Administration includes $7M to advance domestic biofuels production. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollings stated, “This home-grown biofuel production results in lower prices at the pumps, creates jobs, and puts Farmers First.”

DOE Reorganization
The US Department of Energy has moved many of the functions of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy into a new Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation (CMEI). Other changes include the establishment of new offices dedicated exclusively to fusion energy, artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technologies and elevation of geothermal energy.

FTA $2B+ for Transit Agencies
The Federal Transit Administration has announced awards of over $2B funding 160 transit projects in 45 states and Washington, DC. CTE’s analysis of the awards indicates that CNG, diesel hybrid and propane buses were funded and zero-emission buses were not funded.

Bill Gates’ Climate Change Priorities Change
Bill Gates has published a new position on climate change stating, “The best way to help people adapt to climate change is to make sure they’re health and prosperous,” and, “When everyone has access to affordable, reliable clean energy, the world will be more prosperous and more resilient to climate change.” He proposes that, “The future of energy is subatomic” (i.e. fission and fusion).
