Another Record-Breaking Year for Dog Adoptions!
1,106 dogs have found loving news homes so far in 2021
Though 2021 has been a challenging year, we're so proud and excited that we have had a record breaking year for dog adoptions yet again! After finding homes for a record-breaking 1,080 dogs and puppies in 2020, we hoped to reach that milestone again. Happily, we've already surpassed that number, finding homes for more dogs and puppies than ever before!

Puppy Edgar has the honor of being the record-breaking 1,081st dog adopted from Animal Friends Alliance in 2021. He came to Colorado from Arkansas with 11 (!) littermates and his mama, Chica. All but one of his littermates have found families of their own. Chica, who is being treated for heartworm, is still waiting to find her home for the holidays.
Edgar was our record-breaking 1,081st adoption this year! His mama, Chica, is still looking for her family!
If you're looking for a new family member, it's a great time to adopt (or foster!). More space in our shelter means we can save even more lives!

It's only thanks to your support that we can continue to grow and help more animals, year after year. In many ways, like our records for dog adoptions and our Community Cat Program, 2021 has been a fantastic year. Unfortunately, our growth has been hampered by the ongoing pandemic, restrictions on gatherings that prevented our in-person fundraising events, and increased cost of operation. If we're going to break records together again next year, we need your help! Will you make a gift today to ensure puppies like Edgar find safety and love? Will you support the medical care for special dogs like Chica?

Thank you for your commitment to the animals and for breaking records, year after year!
Merry Chipmas to all! We had a great time at our Merry Chipmas event on December 18! We saw 102 animals during the cold and bright day and 48 animals received a free microchip. Thank you to Pethealth Inc. for donating the chips! Up-to-date vaccines and microchips help keep community pets safe, healthy, and home with their families. If your pet needs their shots, heartworm test, or a microchip, learn more about upcoming vaccine clinics on our website.
Bringing Paws Together $25,000 match met!

Thank you to the wonderful supporters who helped us meet the $25,000 capital campaign match challenge well ahead of the December 31 deadline. Thanks to you, we maximized the generous matching gift from Julie Piepho and David Bee. If you would still like to make a Bringing Paws Together pledge in 2021, it's not too late! We have currently raised $1,969,186 toward our $2.8M goal and are getting so close to hitting $2M raised! If you would like to know more about the campaign, visit BringingPawsTogether.org or email development@savinganimalstoday.org.
Have you made a charitable gift this year? You can take a deduction on your taxes!

Did you know that due to the pandemic, charitable givers who might not otherwise qualify for a deduction can get a special tax break for 2021? This year, individual taxpayers can deduct up to $300 in cash donations and married couples filing jointly can deduct up to $600. In order to qualify for this special deduction, charitable gifts must be made before the end of the year. Checks should be postmarked by 12/31 and online donations must be made before midnight on 12/31. For more information, talk to your tax professional or visit IRS.gov.

Adoptable Animal Feature
Meet Ratatouille!

Ratatouille is a darling 10-month-old pup with a bit of a wild streak. He refused to be contained by the kennels at the shelter, hopping doors and pulling Mission: Impossible-level escape attempts, but he is thriving in the comfort of a foster home. His foster reports that he is "the sweetest boy ever" and gets along with other dogs and loves people. They go on to say that he will be the perfect snuggle pup this winter because all he wants is to spend the holidays in your lap! If you're ready to add a new family member, Ratatouille is waiting for you!
You can schedule a meet & greet with Ratatouille by calling (970) 484-8516 or you can complete an adoption questionnaire by visiting our website. If you're not in a place to adopt a special dog like Ratatouille, you can also donate to support his care!
