Discounted Greens for Sale

Last Saturday's holiday sale was a smashing success: We sold more than $12,000 worth of greens and gifts in support of the Arboretum. Thanks to everyone who shopped at, or volunteered for, the event! We still have some lovely centerpieces and bundled greens available, which we're selling through the Arboretum Shop (open daily, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at a 20- to 40-percent discount.

Blooming Hellebore and More in the Winter Garden

It's a fine time to visit the Witt Winter Garden at the Arboretum. 'HGC Josef Lemper', a cultivar of the Christmas Rose ( Helleborus niger), has just started blooming on the east side of the garden. Click below to read a short article about the plant. UW Botanic Gardens horticulturist Roy Farrow says that the fragrant  Daphne bholua specimens in the garden are also just about to flower.

Member Early-Bird Tickets Selling Fast

We started selling tickets for "Winter Garden Carnavale" -- our  2018 Opening Night Party and Auction -- late last month, and the Member Early-Birds have been going fast! We have just about 60 of these special, discounted, Foundation-members-only tickets left. Buy yours while supplies last, and join us for an unforgettable evening on Tuesday, February 6.

Festival Display to Honor Winter Garden Milestone

Our display at the NW Flower & Garden Festival (February 7 to 11) will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Arboretum's famed Witt Winter Garden. Like the garden, our display will be set against a backdrop of lush evergreens and feature a variety of plants that stir the senses throughout the winter season.

Holiday Craft & Gift Sale

The Miller Library is hosting its annual fundraiser craft sale, now through December 23. It features locally made arts and crafts, such as botanical salves by Katie Hopper, veggie-art mugs and tea towels by Syd de Baca, and nature-themed prints and cards by Molly Hashimoto. Cash or check only. 25% of proceeds benefit the library.
