The Behavioral Health Workforce Training Clearinghouse (BH Clearinghouse) is a resource to support the development of Community Behavioral Health Centers (CBHCs), a new network of community-based clinics offering real-time and high-quality access to behavioral health treatment in Massachusetts. The BH Clearinghouse offers high-quality, free training for CBHC providers and Behavioral Health Help Line (BHHL) staff in evidenced-based behavioral health practices.

Bereavement Support During Holidays and Difficult Days


December 13, 2023 from 12:00-1:00


This training will be delivered by the BH Clearinghouse's Clinical Educator, Sarissa Adams. It describes the complexity of grief during holidays and difficult days and ways to best support clients in clinical practice. A recording of this training will be offered via the LMS in January.

Live In-Person Training

Solution Focused Therapy: Two-day, In-person Training


Actively participate in two days of live, in-person training in Shrewsbury, MA conducted by Susan Tohn.


  • January 18, 2024: 9:00-5:00
  • January 19, 2024: 9:00-5:00


Lunch and her book will be provided. The training will be followed up by 1-hour consultation sessions every 4-6 weeks throughout 2024 up to 12 sessions.


Space is limited to 2 clinicians per CBHC. Contact your PQM by December 22, 2023 if interested.

Available courses include a [Launch Course] button that will bring you directly to the ForHealth Consulting Learning Management System (LMS) login page to enroll in the training. Once in the LMS via your login (CBHC email address) and password (click reset password if needed), you can self-enroll in online training courses: 

  1. Click on the “Discover” link in the top Navigation bar. 
  2. View available courses by scrolling up and down the page. 
  3. Click on the course you’d like to take. 
  4. Click on [Enroll in Course] to self-enroll and complete the course.

Effective Approaches for Caring for Individuals with Substance Use Disorder


The Effective Approaches to Caring for Individuals with Substance Use Disorders course is a 4 hour course focused on evidence-based care with an emphasis on Relapse Prevention, Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care, and core principles from Motivational Interviewing. The course includes a review of practical strategies for screening, assessment, and diagnosis of people with substance use concerns. Presenters introduce learners to helpful approaches for addressing the needs of individuals with co-occurring mood disorders, anxiety, and trauma. Specific strategies for treating individuals using Nicotine, Alcohol, and Opioids are explored along with a review of how clinicians can support the use of medications to treat these conditions. The training also includes a discussion of privacy and coordination of care with family members.

Leadership Training

Evidenced-Based Practice (EBP) Implementation

Community of Practice (CoP)


This will be a monthly meeting for CBHC leadership and those implementing and maintaining the fidelity of EBPs. The first mtg. was held in November. The December mtg. will continue to build on the issues discussed in November raised at the Fidelity webinar. Future monthly sessions will be communicated shortly.


Representation from all CBHCs is strongly encouraged.
