Alternative Ways to Give this Holiday Season
TRIBUTE GIFTS:Any cash gift, no matter the size, can be made in honor or in memory of a loved one. What a thoughtful way to give a special gift this holiday season. When you do, we will send the individual or family a holiday card with a personal note with your best wishes and how you have brought a smile to a child in need with your gift in honor of them. We can even send the note labeled, “Do Not Open Until Christmas”.
For most of us, providing a birthday party for someone is a small act of kindness. After all, birthdays are an annual celebration – common place and traditional. One family can stage multiple birthday parties in a single year. And yet, for someone who is homeless and living in a car or shelter, the act of putting on a birthday party can seem impossible. And the child whose birthday is missed, often feels isolated or forgotten. Your contribution to the Birthday Club means that at least one child will be given a birthday experience they wish for!
Please do consider becoming a Birthday Club member today! As a Birthday Club member, you are a part of a special group of people who are making a real, tangible difference in the troubled lives of homeless children. Your generosity directly and positively impacts the life of a homeless child and provides a gift of joy, dignity, self-esteem and hope.
Hubbard Radio Group: Recently Birthday Dreams’ Development Director, Jarod Drozdowski was interviewed by Erik Krema, host of the "Your Community Matters" radio program on KKNW 1150 AM. They chatted about the season of giving and why Birthday Dreams should be on YOUR holiday giving list this year. The interview will air four times this month, but you can get an advanced screening here:
The Hubbard Radio Group also produced a PSA for Birthday Dreams that will air dozens of times this month on both 1150 KKNW and 880 KIXI! So – tune that radio dial to these stations and give it a listen. Our thanks and gratitude to Hubbard Radio Group for highlighting Birthday Dreams this holiday season!
Community Support and Recognition | Recent Grant Awards
Ana White: Ana has been a supporter of Birthday Dreams since 2017 and recently donated a considerable gift to our organization out of the kindness of her heart and connection to Birthday Dreams’ mission. Ana stated in a correspondence with us recently, “I just love what Birthday Dreams is doing to make such a positive difference for homeless children”. Well Ana – we just love YOU and are grateful for your amazing financial support! THANK YOU!
Birthday Dreams is so thankful for the financial support we receive through Grant Awards. Grants help fund our Birthday-in-a-Box program. This month, we would like to highlight the generous $7000 grant from First Financial Northwest Foundation and the $1500 grant from Enterprise Holdings Foundation.
