1) Message to Ballwin Businesses
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted everyone this year... but especially you, our business community. We are thankful to have you all in our community & encourage you to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

I will continue communication efforts aimed at reminding residents to support our Ballwin businesses however they can & to shop local, especially during the holidays.

3) Business License Discounts
In the City of Ballwin, there are two ways in which fees are assessed for business licenses. The first is based on a business' gross receipts for the previous year, and the second is based on the business' square footage.

During the November 23rd Board of Aldermen Meeting, Mayor Pogue recommended reducing the 2021 business license fee by 20% for the businesses that pay their annual fee based on square footage, since all other business licenses will automatically be adjusted based on their 2020 receipts. This recommendation was unanimously approved by the Board and was asked to be included in the 2021 budget.

The 2021 budget was presented to the Board on Monday, December 14. The budget, including the business license discount brought forth by Mayor Pogue, was approved.

If you have questions on anything mentioned above, please contact our Finance Department at (636) 227-9000.
