December 2025

A note from your Newsletter Editor:

Dearest Fellow,

Happy New Year's Eve, my friends.

A reminder: I am stepping down as your Newsletter Editor. It has been a pleasure to serve as your Newsletter Editor for two years.

I have learned that service is not an optional part of my recovery - it is a necessity. Rarely do service opportunities come at convenient times. They come when we least expect it. They are often positions we feel unprepared for. But it is worth taking the chance. It is worth trusting that our Higher Power will work through us and help us rise us to the occasion. I hope if you enjoyed reading this newsletter as much as I enjoyed crafting it, you might feel inspired to step up!

It's my most sincere hope that another fellow will find the same joy and serenity I found when drafting this newsletter every month. If you are interested in filling this position, let your Intergroup Representative know! I am happy to help get you started.

In service and great gratitude of the gifts of this program,

Tess T. Newsletter Editor, CT Intergroup

Step 12: Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to compulsive overeaters and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Tradition 12: Spirituality

  • Does our group support and trust our group conscience, or do we let one, or several, strong personalities run things?
  • Do we speak up for OA Principles, no matter who might be displeased?
  • Do we ever confuse OA Principles with our personal opinions?
  • Do we make our full identity known within the group so we can be called on for Twelfth Step work?

Step 12 Principle: Service

Helping other compulsive eaters through sponsoring and other forms of service to our groups, service bodies, and OA as a whole has been a surprisingly powerful factor in our recovery.
