Chamber Benefits Luncheon - January 22nd

Join us on January 22nd for our Chamber Benefits Luncheon. We are prepared to answer all of your questions about our Chamber, what we are working on, how a Chamber benefits your business and more. Come meet the Chamber Staff and Directors 12pm - 1pm at Tasty Tandoori.

Parade of Lights and Midnight Madness - December 7th

The Vanderhoof Chamber of Commerce is happy to host the Parade of Lights and Midnight Madness again this year. Join in the festivities on Saturday December 7th. The Parade of Lights begins at 7pm (see map below). For anyone looking to enter a float, there is no registration required! Floats should arrive prior to 6:30pm from Recreation Ave onto Stewart St E, lining up along side the pool and arena. 

After the Parade, be sure to enjoy the great deals our many members and retail stores have to offer! 
Recent Activities
Membership Drive

On November 7th Chamber staff and some of our Directors headed out for our first Membership Drive. This was a great opportunity to meet local business owners in person to discuss our Chamber and the benefits of becoming a member. We found the Membership Drive was a great opportunity for businesses to bring up concerns, ideas and issues that are important to You - the business owner. As well, we signed-up new members too - welcome to you!

We received great feedback from our members and future members alike. This feedback is very important for our Board and staff to develop our Chamber into the right model to serve the needs of businesses in Vanderhoof. Our objectives to promote local business here and elsewhere, advocate for your business, and provide valuable benefits members want remain top priority.

If you are interested in having us come into your business to discuss Chamber benefits and what the Vanderhoof Chamber is working on, please let us know. We are happy to come to meet you in your work place. 

Our next Membership Drive will be at the beginning of February. We will be reaching out to businesses outside of the downtown core, connecting with industry leaders in our community in forestry, agriculture and fisheries. Contact us if you would like to be on this list!

Open House

On November 14th we held our Christmas Open House at our new office space in the Co-op Mall. The Open House was well attended by current, past and potential members, along with our staff and directors. Everyone enjoyed the refreshments, snacks and conversation. Thank you to everyone that attended!

Our new office is shaping up to be a great working space for our growing Chamber. We have local art hanging on our walls, which makes the space bright and fun. We also have a new TV in the office advertising our current members, thank you to  Maverick II Ent.  for this amazing donation. Be sure to stop in anytime during office hours to have a look!
Free Advertising
Our Chamber is working hard to help grow your business! One way we are able to do this is through our free promotions. 

  • Office TV: We have a beautiful new TV in our office, thanks to Maverick II Ent, that we show a continue slide show of our current members business logo, location and contact information. If you haven't already, send your information to the Chamber Manager and we will add your information to this free advertising! 
  • Social Media: We can use our Facebook page to promote your business or business event! Send us your photos and info and we’ll get it out there on social media. A perfect example of this is Midnight Madness. Our Manager will be out on the town that evening going to all our participating members to take photos to promote on Facebook. If you have hot deals that you want to promote prior to the event, please connect with our Manager. 
  • Chamber Point E-Newsletter: Once a month all Chamber members receive this E-Newsletter. We will start highlighting members in this publication starting in the new year. More on this to come! But if you have something special (a business award, retiring staff member, expansion etc.), please let us know and we’ll add it here. 

Currently we only have a Facebook account, but are looking to expand into Instagram and Twitter to help promote Vanderhoof Businesses.

The Chamber of Commerce is first and foremost an Advocate for you and your business. We work with our Board of Directors Advocacy Committee, plus the BC Chamber to bring any issues that our members bring to us and start to create change.
