Happy Holidays from MPI New Jersey
During the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we often forget that this is the season to appreciate your friends, family and colleagues and be joyful in all we have.  It has brought me much happiness to be able to lead this great chapter over the last six months and I want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU... yes you! 

Thank you to our members: Your passion and participation in this chapter is appreciated whether we see you once a month or once a year. I hope that you take advantage of all the benefits MPI has to offer you in your professional career and I am always here to help you navigate your journey in MPI! 

Thank you to our committee volunteers: Without your time and commitment to your role within MPI New Jersey all the wonderful events and behind the scenes things we do would not happen.  You are the heart and soul of this chapter and a simple thank you does not begin to express the gratitude I have for you all. 

Thank you to our Board of Directors: It is such a pleasure to serve with such a wonderful group and I am proud of each and every one of you for the difference that you make in this chapter.  Thank you for your loyalty, support and work you put in every day.    

However you spend your holidays, I encourage you to express your gratitude to those around you and soak in all the joys this season has to offer!

CHAPTER EVENT RECAP:
What did you miss last month?

NOVEMBER WELLNESS DAY:
Our tribe came together on November 19th at the Hilton Meadowlands to host our Wellness Day Program. We heard about Communicating with Compassion from MPI New Jersey Member and former Monk, Pandi Dasa.  Pandit shared with us ways to focus our communication in a meaningful way and refocus our energy positively for a more successful workplace. 

We also heard from MPI New Jersey Member, Sharon DeFelices, CMP about Adding the Flavor of Wellness to our events.  Sharon shared ways how making small changes to your events food and beverage can help keep attendees alert and focused throughout your events.  Our hosts, the Hilton Meadowlands, did a fantastic job at showcasing how to successful execute these practices. 

Our final Keynote Speaker, Michael Lyons showed us to how to Pursue our Passion. We all have the power to convert our passion into our success with the right direction.

Attend MPI New Jersey's Mastering Your Membership class on January 31, 2020 at 10:30am, just prior to the educational program.  This class is designed for newcomers to MPI and legacy members as well to teach you how to better navigate MPI's membership benefits.  Sign up during registration for the education program.  Hope to see you there!

Did you know that MPI has a Foundation that offers scholarship programs and career opportunities that propel professionals and students in the industry forward. Scholarships are governed by the Global Board of Trustees with oversight conducted by the Grants & Scholarship Committee.

The MPI Foundation can help you cover costs for a preferred MPI membership and help fund your MPI Academy courses (including CMM, HMCC, Experiential Event Series, Meetings Essentials, Basics Boot Camp and more).

MEET JIM ZIEREIS
Occupation: Vice President of Hotel Sales 
Current Employer: Tropicana Atlantic City 

What is the most memorable event you have planned or client experience you have had?
We host the Maxwell Football Club Awards Gala each year and I have met numerous famous football players including Peyton Manning, Baker Mayfield, Marcus Marriotto, and many others. 

Where did you grow up?
Born and raised in South Jersey.  My three kids went to the same high school where I went and met my wife. 

What is your favorite thing about our industry?
Every day is different and you meet some incredible people.

What do you love about MPI New Jersey?
Meeting new people and sharing ideas.
