December Climate Solutions Caucus Round-Up

Dear Stakeholder,

Please see below for highlights from December and a preview of what’s to come.

December Engagement:

Co-Chairs Garbarino and Houlahan met for a one-on-one meeting.

  • In mid-December, Co-Chairs Garbarino and Houlahan met one-on-one to discuss Caucus priorities and programming for the 119th Congress.
  • Staffers gathered in early December for a briefing on agroforestry. They were joined by Carbon180 and agricultural producers from Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin, who shared the benefits, challenges, and opportunities that agroforestry presents as a climate solution and benefit to producers’ bottom line.
  •  Co-Chairs Garbarino & Houlahan and several other Caucus Members attended the Climate Solutions Foundation’s holiday reception. The Co-Chairs addressed a bipartisan group of Members of Congress and Senators, corporate and trade executives, think tank leaders, and scientists about their climate policy priorities for the 119th Congress.

Looking Ahead:

In January, Members plan to meet to discuss clean energy tax credits and their priorities for the 119th Congress.

Caucus staff plans to gather for an energy and climate legislative overview for the 119th Congress. This meeting will also serve as an introductory opportunity for new staffers.

As always, stakeholders are encouraged to approach the Climate Solutions Caucus with priorities and engagement ideas as the 2024-2025 programmatic calendar continues to develop.
