“Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the City of David a Savior has been born for you who is Christ and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: You will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” (Lk2:10-14)
May Christ's peace and hope be with your family now and in the days ahead. May His love warm your hearts and may He give you a spirit of wisdom. I sincerely hope that the remembrance of Christ’s birth brings you much peace and hope. As we celebrate Christmas here at St. Brigid of Kildare, I would like to thank you for your unwavering support and prayers. My thanks to all of you who have been faithful parishioners, for all you do, especially through the tough times.
May God bless you this Christmas, may all darkness in your lives be removed by the light of Christ. May your hearts be filled with the Joy of Christ’s birth and may you be missionaries of that joy. Best wishes for a healthy and blessed new year.
Sincerely in Christ,
Rev. Msgr. Joseph M. Hendricks

The Creed with Bishop Barron
TUESDAY MORNING GROUP
The keys that unlock the beliefs of the Christian Faith are stated succinctly in the Nicene Creed, which we pray at every Sunday Mass. Born at the Council of Nicaea in the Fourth Century after intense debates, this formal statement of faith is the foundation of both eastern and western Christianity. And to this day, most Christians around the world would subscribe to it. Please join us as we explore the Creed with Bishop Robert Barron in a new study beginning January 11, 2022 and ending February 15. Format Bishop Barron’s video followed by small group sharing.
We meet in the Berry Room of Hendrick’s Hall after the 9:00 AM Mass and end about 11:15 AM. Study Guide materials will be provided but you might find it helpful to buy Bishop Barron’s book: Light from Light. It is available on Kind and Hardback from Amazon. Wordonfire.com also has the book available in hardback. You do need to register for this class. Deadline for registration is January 8, 2021 – Sister Teresa
Gospel of Luke
A Gospel for our Day (Zoom)
Luke is the primary Gospel for liturgy in the new Church Year, which began on the First Sunday of Advent. We are in Year C of a three year cycle. Luke is not part of the first generation disciples but is dependent upon the traditions he received from those who were eyewitnesses and believers. His Gospel has many names: Gospel of the Poor, Gospel of Women, Gospel of Prayer are among the many titles. During this ZOOM session we will go through the gospel to see how this Gospel speaks to us today. This offering is in two parts. Part 1. Wednesday nights- January 12- February 9 from 7:00 PM- 8:30 PM on ZOOM.
Adult Faith Formation: Upcoming Events

Advent Events
Advent Upside Down
Wednesdays, December 1 – 22; 7:00 – 8:15 PM
Advent is that unchangeable season when the same concepts, the same words rise repeatedly, year after year, to challenge our hearts and plague our minds. How can we listen to them with new ears and with eyes open wide to see new moments of grace? So much of our lives and lives across the world have been under a very different kind of darkness – the darkness of a pandemic. With all its unknowns, so much of our lives has been turned upside down. Even as we begin walking out of the pandemic things are still so uncertain. In the silence and the darkness, we hear our own heart’s cry, our own flame of desire, our own longing for God. IT IS ALL UPSIDE DOWN!
Our time together will be a blend of quiet, prayer, scripture readings and sharing. This is presented on ZOOM, so you must register by emailing Sister Teresa (ttuite@stbrigidofkildare.org).
ZOOM information: Meeting ID 871 3984 2373, Passcode: UPSIDEDOWN
Advent Pause for Prayer

Meeting ID: 825 3385 6351
Passcode: PAUSE
No registration is required.
The Voices around Advent and Christmas
It’s hard to imagine what it must’ve been like to encounter the One who was foretold by prophets and arrived as a baby in a manger. In the series, we will hear from Isaiah and John the Baptist, but also hear the story of Christ’s miraculous birth as told by people who saw Him firsthand, like Joseph and Mary, a wise man, and the innkeeper’s son, as well as by Mary’s mother and a shepherd’s wife, who had to believe without yet seeing Jesus for themselves. We will listen to them to learn what they might have to say to us today and what we might have to say to them. It will be a blend of quiet, prayer, scripture readings and sharing. There are two options.
Tuesday Morning (men and women) we meet in the Berry Room after the 9:00 AM Mass. OR
Tuesday: 1:00 – 2:30 Nov. 30 – Dec. 21 (This is a “Little Rock” Women’s Group, and we meet in the Carr Room in Hendricks Hall)

Mass Intentions for April - June 2022
|
We will be taking Mass intention requests electronically through forms on the website for Masses in April, May and June, 2022. The Mass Intentions form will go live on Monday, January 17 at 10 a.m. on our website at www.stbrigidofkildare.org. We will only be taking requests for April, May and June, 2022 at this time.
In order to fairly accommodate all Mass Intentions requested, we ask that you request no more than two (2) Mass intentions per family per quarter and only one Mass intention per month.
*As mass attendance increases in the wake of the pandemic, mass times may change. You are only requesting a date for Mass intentions. There is no option to select a time for a Mass. If the date you request is not available, the Mass will be assigned on the closest available date. If you enter a day of the week, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Men’s Cornerstone Retreat: Would you invest two days to awaken, renew and grow your spirituality?
Our day-day lives are chaotic. In fact, a recent study on families and quality time found that 60 percent of parents describe their daily lives as “hectic.”
Work commitments, family priorities, dealing with the pandemic, never-ending to-do lists. It’s easy for us to be distracted from God and what’s important in our lives.
Are you the husband, father, and man of faith you need to be? What would you give to get away from the daily stressors to just relax, connect in fellowship with other men of faith, and deepen your relationship with God?
What would you give to awaken, renew and grow your spirituality?
You’re invited to break away and join other men of Saint Brigid of Kildare for fellowship at the annual Cornerstone Men’s Retreat. Together, we’ll awaken, renew and grow our spirituality through engaging speakers, group discussions, music, mass and more.
WHERE: Maria Stein Spiritual Center, 2365 St Johns Rd., Maria Stein, Ohio 45860
WHEN: 7 p.m., January 28 – Noon, January 30, 2022
