Fresh Ideas

The Knox Task Force For Older Adults is seeking new coalition members who will contribute ideas and step-up to assist planning programs involving our older adults. The coalition generally meets once a month (for instance at The Station Break) but facilitates various programs throughout the year where they will need further assistance.

Season of Hope food distribution

December 16-22 | Time TBD

Center of Hope is looking for volunteers to help with this year's Season of Hope food distributions taking place between December 16th and 22nd. Volunteers for other projects and to help on a regular basis are also welcomed.

Tuesdays | 12:00-3:30, Ongoing

Thursdays | 10:00-12:30, Ongoing

Help is needed to assist clients in choosing furniture; to sort and clean incoming donations; and to assist with general office work. 740-392-3155

Make a Difference in Someone's Life

December-April | 6:30 P.M.-10:00 P.M.

The Winter Sanctuary staff are looking for open-minded, kind-hearted adults over the age of 18 to act as a role model and mentor to our homeless guests by spending time with them, listening to their stories, getting to know them. Volunteers work alongside a staff person. Additional duties may include light cleaning/teaching the guests to clean; answering the phone/door; assisting with laundry. 740-392-9277

Interchurch Social Services

December 9, 12-14 | Time TBD

Interchurch Social Services of Knox County needs assistance with unloading then organizing the donations received from the Food For the Hungry Campaign on Dec 9. On Dec 12 they need help packing holiday food boxes. Then on Dec 13-14, help is needed to distribute food, toys, and gifts. 740-397-4825
