Guests Celebrate Heritage Conservancy's Work and Mission at the Christmas at Aldie Fundraiser

Guests from around the region attended our annual Christmas at Aldie fundraiser, capping our busiest fundraising season.

Over 200 guests joined us for a memorable evening at Aldie Mansion, heralding the arrival of the season and supporting our work and mission.

This year's event was reimagined as a cocktail party, inviting guests to mix and mingle throughout the mansion and enjoy appetizers and gourmet dinner stations by Jeffrey A. Miller Catering. The event surpassed our $125k challenge, and guests joined the many who have already given, helping us reach and exceed our goal to match the generous gift of Heritage Conservancy supporters Jay and Barbara Belding.

Our guests enjoyed gathering to celebrate our work and mission, while learning more about our growing land conservation efforts and the impact of our community outreach and education.

Heritage Conservancy's Fall After-School Programs Served 60 Kids with Nature Education

Heritage Conservancy part-time educator Mia Hibbs enjoyed working with middle school students – an age group often underserved by environmental education efforts.

EITC support from our business community makes programs like these possible. Learn more about how your business can make a difference.

This fall, Heritage Conservancy initiated four new after-school nature programs for middle school and grade school students in Bristol Township School District. The programs served over 60 kids, teaching them about nature and their local outdoor environment.

"A number of them said that learning more and getting involved made them hopeful for the future," said Kaylyn Brindisi, Community Programs Associate at Heritage Conservancy. "It was empowering for them when learning about and living with the effects of climate change."

A "New" Historic Place: Te Deum

The Slack family was prominent in Yardley, with members fighting in the Revolutionary War and the Civil War.

Heritage Conservancy's Historic Review Board has recently accepted another entry to our Register of Historic Places.

The stone farmhouse, known as Te Deum, sits on a 2-acre property in Yardley. It maintains local significance as an enduring example of early 19th-century architecture and for its association with several generations of the Slack family. Several members of the family served as soldiers in the Continental Army during the American Revolution.

2024 has been a productive year, and we are still going strong!

We expect our 2024 land conservation total to be approximately 325 acres by the very end of this month. December is a busy time, with three scheduled closings this week alone!

Our total acreage preserved is over 16,000, and climbing. There are about 40 projects currently in the works, totaling over 2,000 more acres.

Our education and community engagement work is also thriving. We estimate we have connected with well over 5,000 people so far this year through educational programs, teacher trainings, community festivals, and our own public events in the region.

We continue to add entries to our Register of Historic Places and offer resources to property owners. Your support makes all of this possible. And there is still time to give.

From the Heritage Conservancy Staff: Thank You!

You are amazing! When we looked to raise $125,000 in matching funds for the generous donation of Jay and Barbara Belding, you answered the call. With year-end donations, Giving Tuesday gifts, and Christmas at Aldie support, we have exceeded our goal.

As we often say, there is still so much more to do. We have spent the last two years growing our outreach and impact in the region. Thank you for investing in Heritage Conservancy's work and mission.

Thank you to the following Platinum Business Leaders for supporting Heritage Conservancy's mission and making accomplishments possible through their generosity:
