We have many beautiful gingerbread houses made by community members on display at the library. During Christmas on the Bay, come by and vote for your favourite! The top three gingerbread houses will receive a festive prize!

Felt Gnome Workshop

A variety of skills will be taught in this session. How to form a cone shape, apply even layers of wool,

avoid needle marks, form appendages, and attach to create a figure. Also, how to work with and apply

natural locks to your art. Each participant will make an adorable one-of-a-kind gnome.

Forest of Reading 2026

The Forest of Reading is Canada's largest recreational reading program and an initiative of the Ontario Library Association. The goal is to encourage a love of reading.

The Forest of Reading celebrates Canadian books, authors, publishers, and illustrators. The program is for children and youth from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Participants are encouraged to read the nominated titles and vote for their favourite books. Voting takes place in April 2026.

To participate visit the library to register and track your reading!

PLEASE DO NOT leave books on the steps of the Net Shed as the weather

(snow, rain, etc.) destroys them and will then have to be thrown out.
