What a magical Shop Local Saturday in Bardstown!
Thank you to everyone who came out on November 29th to kick off the holiday season with us.
Our Shop Local bags were such a hit that the line began forming two hours before distribution… and the bags were completely gone within 20 minutes! We love seeing our community show up for local businesses in such a big way.
Here’s a look back at all the festive fun:
Breakfast with Santa & Mrs. Claus at Mammy’s Kitchen kicked off the day with full tables, big smiles, and lots of Christmas cheer.
Starting at 10 AM:
Shoppers lined up early to grab their Shop Local bags at Old SteelHouse Distillery—three even had $100 cash inside! Local stores were filled with holiday shoppers enjoying great deals, completing their Shopping Passports for the $250 prize, and picking up their Angel Tree packets to support local families.
11 AM to 1 PM – Gingerbread Trail:
Santa and Mrs. Claus welcomed families at Mayor’s Park with free photo prints, and kids picked up their Gingerbread Passports. Main Street was full of festive fun with the animatronic reindeer, ornament decorating at The Gallery, free trolley rides with Rudolph and storybooks for early families, and warm hot cocoa at Lem’s Café sponsored by Heaven Hill Distillery.
A huge THANK YOU to all our incredible sponsors and local businesses who made this day possible and to every shopper who chose to support local this holiday season.
A Heartfelt Thank You to who braved the cold with us on that day!
This day would not have been possible without the incredible support of our volunteers and sponsors:
• Carrie Pride and Kathy Wallace—for helping hand out the Shop Local bags.
• Main Street Board Members—for assembling all 200 Shop Local bags.
• Manoj Patel for driving Rudolph and guests in the Trolley
• Ladara Hicks for decorating and hosting the ornament decorating.
• Abound Credit Union, Sarah Curtsinger State Farm, and Santa with Mrs. Claus for bringing festivities to the Mayor's park.
• Zach Sinclair for capturing the moments with his camera.
• Local businesses who generously donated gift cards valued up to $25 to fill our bags.
• Bardstown Main Street & Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber staff for all your hard work!
