2021 December E-News
Christmas 'Round Bardstown
It was a busy weekend here in Downtown Bardstown. The weekend kicked off the Holiday season with a bang! Starting off with Bardstown Main Street's 11th Annual Light Up Bardstown. It was such a magical event filled with twinkling lights and a special visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus. Followed by Shop Small Saturday full of shopping, dining, trolley rides, ornament painting, and storytime with Santa at the Library. Topping it all off with our 1st ever ice skating rink where families made memories for years to come. We loved seeing all the smiling faces and laughter.

There are so many people to thank for making all of this a huge success for Bardstown.
All of our wonderful volunteers that help tirelessly to make sure everything goes off seamlessly.

As you can see the list goes on and on of community members, volunteers, and businesses that have so much support for our small town.
We hope you made memories that will last a lifetime in “The Most Beautiful Small Town In America”!

Spotlight of the Month
Baptist Health Hardin

The Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize Baptist Health Hardin as Spotlight of the Month.

Baptist Health Hardin joined the Bardstown Chamber of Commerce many years ago and employs and cares for many families in Nelson and the surrounding counties. Baptist Health Hardin serves approximately 400,000 residents in 10 central Kentucky counties — Nelson, Bullitt, Green, Taylor, LaRue, Meade, Breckinridge, Grayson, Hart and Hardin. Nelson County is home to the Baptist Health Hardin Bardstown Medical Plaza located at 3615 East John Rowan Boulevard.

The Baptist Health Hardin Bardstown Medical Plaza and team of caregivers there provide a suite of patient services in one convenient location right off the Bluegrass Parkway. Patients may see their family care provider at the Baptist Health Medical Group Family Medicine, one of Baptist Health Hardin's largest clinics in the region. Patients also have access to specialty care at the specialty clinic on the second floor. Any provider-referred imaging needs can be easily addressed at the Diagnostic Center that offers X-ray, CT Imaging, MRI and 3D mammography. The in-clinic, retail pharmacy gives Baptist Health patients access to prescriptions following visits to the onsite Baptist Health Medical Group Family Medicine or Specialty Clinic.

In addition to the Baptist Health Hardin Bardstown Medical Plaza, the Elizabethtown hospital currently has emergency permission (due to COVID) to operate 321 acute care beds. It also has the region's only Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that allows babies who need a little extra help stay close to home. Baptist Health Hardin recently broke ground and will soon begin construction on the new Outpatient Medical Pavilion behind the hospital. The new facility will help Baptist Health Hardin meet the needs of a region that has shown significant population growth in recent years with no signs of slowing down. The population in Baptist Health Hardin’s 10-county service area is expected to grow by 6.7% in the next five to seven years according to a data analysis conducted for the project. At 282,000 square feet, roughly 75% of the size of the existing hospital, the new outpatient medical pavilion will house a new comprehensive cancer care center, twelve new surgical suites including a hybrid operating room, three new cardiac cath labs, a multidisciplinary outpatient medical office building, and patient-centered spaces designed to promote emotional and spiritual wellness.
