Sustainers Circle
Sustainers and Board Members enjoying delicious treats at the annual Sustainer Event.
Thank you to Maria "Flip" Filippi for hosting our Sustainers Circle Event this past weekend at the Harvest Kitchen located at Cornell Cooperative Extension in St. Lawrence County. The  Harvest Kitchen  is an amazing resource for this community and it was really wonderful to hear about all the programs and projects they are currently working on. And of course, a great big thank you to our GardenShare Sustainers. Our Sustainers commit to financial support of GardenShare over multiple years, which is critical to ensuring stability in programming and staffing year in and year out. Indeed, without our Sustainers much of what we do here at GardenShare would simply not be possible. Thank you!
A Fond Farewell to Maggie

GardenShare would like to send out a fond farewell to Maggie Smith. She played an integral role in the success of the organization in her time here. She will be missed, but we know she will be back to visit!

In her words:  "I'm going to miss GardenShare, and its community, a whole lot. Working here since August 2017, I helped see us through some tough times with the illness and eventual resignation of our director. I also coordinated a pilot volunteer-driven free lunch program for kids, and was able to lead or participate in so many behind-the-scenes projects and public initiatives I can't even remember them all, let alone write them here. Working closely as a power duo with Associate Director Carlene, and then growing that team to include two new staff members this fall, has been a joy. I'm so grateful for the opportunities I've had, and the friends I've made. Up Next: a couple years in the Ithaca, NY area, and probably graduate school. But the North Country is my home, so I hope to see you around sometime soon."

Nature's Storehouse Thanksgiving Gratitude Fundraiser

Many thanks to  Nature's Storehouse  in Canton and their generous customers who raised $561 for GardenShare during their Thanksgiving Gratitude Fundraiser! This is their third year doing this. The contribution goes towards GardenShare's $8000 goal to to fund the 2019 Bonus Bucks program. We are certainly blessed to belong to such a wonderful community!
