✨ Celebrating TCOA's
40th Annual Dinner & Auction ✨
| | |
Tri-County Office on Aging’s 40th Annual Dinner & Auction was a beautiful reflection of what happens when our community comes together—full of warmth, generosity, and shared joy.
A heartfelt thank-you to our Event Sponsor Jackson National Life Insurance Company and emcee Danielle Robinson, along with all of our incredible sponsors, volunteers, and cherished guests. Your support makes it possible to fulfill TCOA’s mission to promote and preserve the independence and dignity of the aging population.
This year’s event embodied the spirit of our Harvest Circle—gathering in celebration of living, giving, growing, growing older, and thriving together. Your care helps build a world where everyone can age with dignity and connection.

The Volunteer Spotlight for December is... Amechi, a Dining Site Volunteer!
"My name is Amechi, and I am freshman at Michigan State University. I wanted to find a way to give back to the Lansing Community, and I thankfully found the Tri-County Office on Aging.
I really enjoy volunteering with the Tri-County Office on Aging at Marsh Pointe. Interacting with and helping the elderly community was an enjoyable experience that taught me more about the greater Lansing community, and I hope to continue to volunteer with the Tri-County Office on Aging to continue to learn more and have even better experiences."
Thank you, Amechi, for serving up meals and serving up smiles at the Marsh Pointe Dining Site!
For more information about volunteering please contact us at volunteer@tcoa.org or apply at tcoa.org/volunteer.
| | 'Tis the Season for Holiday Scams! | | |
Be aware! While December ushers in a season of cheer - it's also when holiday scammers appear! To lure kind-hearted shoppers into their schemes, these grinches are willing to use any means.
Thankfully - there is information out there on how to spot these "scroogy" scams!
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is running a holiday consumer protection campaign to help prepare shoppers and charitable givers to spot scams. Follow her campaign at www.facebook.com/MIConsumerWatch.
Some scams and tips shared by AG Nessel include:
-
Social Media Spoofing: "Before believing in that 'too-good-to-be-true' post, check the URL and look for the lock symbol to confirm the authenticity of the website."
-
Wise Charitable Giving: "Before donating this season, verify the organization through sites like Charity Navigator or the IRS database."
-
Porch Pirates: "Remember to track packages, use secure delivery options, and consider a camera or pickup locker."
-
Ransomware: "Keep devices updated and avoid suspicious links to prevent falling victim to hackers."
-
Travel Tips: "Book through trusted travel sites, verify listings, and never wire money for reservations."
Stay safe, stay alert, and don't give scammers a reason to steal your identity this Holiday season!
