Austin Child Guidance Center is convening a "first of its kind" regional training conference on trauma and trauma-informed care. This two day conference brings together over 350 professionals and organizations in Central Texas that work with children and adults; including mental health clinicians, physicians, school personnel, medical/nursing professionals, law enforcement, juvenile justice professionals, and occupational/physical/speech therapists. The conference will provide expert guidance and education on the effects of trauma, as well as evidence-based practices in recognizing and treating trauma.

Bruce Perry, M.D., Ph.D Senior Fellow of the Child Trauma Academy Vincent Felliti, M.D. Clinical Professor of Medicine at University of California, Co-Principal Investigator of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study Erica Miller, Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist and Holocaust Survivor Ginny Sprang, Ph.D. Executive Director, University of Kentucky Center on Trauma and Children; Co-Chair of National Child Traumatic Stress Network Secondary Traumatic Stress Collaborative Early bird registration is $275 and ends 12/31/14. Registration fee after 1/1/15 is $325. Cost of registration includes breakfast and lunch. Tickets are non-refundable. Currently, CEUs have been confirmed for social workers, psychologists, LPC's, and LMFT's. CEUs are pending for nurses, OT/PT/ST, LCDC, teachers, attorneys, and other medical professionals.
