We've been busy!

For the 5th consecutive year, the DDCC partnered with the Grade 11 Career and Life Management (CALM) class at St. Anthony’s School for the You’re Hired Interview Competition . The program gives students the opportunity to apply for fictitious jobs and interview for these jobs with real employers in the community. Read more
On Tuesday, November 26, Executive Director Heather Bitz had the pleasure of attending the Alberta Chambers of Commerce Fall Board meeting and Deputy Ministers’ Dinner in Edmonton. The sessions during the day were very timely and informative, followed by an evening Q & A with the Deputy Ministers.

Initial results from the Alberta Perspectives Survey, which focused on red tape reduction, were shared. Across the province, the top three barriers to business identified at a municipal level included municipal franchise fees, mill rates and permitting fees. The survey also showed that business confidence has decreased 20% since the first survey was conducted in June. Please stay tuned for full survey results to be released. Read more

Please note the Chamber of Commerce office will be closed over the holidays from December 24 to January 1, reopening Wednesday, January 2 for regular business from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The World’s Largest Dinosaur Giftshop and Visitor Information Centre will be open regular hours (10am to 5:30pm daily) with the exception of December 24, 25 and 31, as well as January 1.
As we round out 2019, I would like to say thank you to our Chamber of Commerce members, Board of Directors and staff who have contributed to the achievements of the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce in the past year! We have had a successful year and I look forward to what 2020 will bring.

It's that time of year- the DDCC will begin sending out invoices for 2020 Chamber memberships in mid-December.

*As per our bylaws, memberships must be paid by January 31, 2020 to be considered in good standing, and members must be in good standing to be eligible to serve on the Board of Directors and to vote at the 2020 Annual General Meeting. Please let us know if you have not received your invoice by January 4, 2020.
