BECOMING A CRITICAL ACCESS HOSPITAL

On Wednesday, December 4th from Noon to 1 pm (MT), Cheri Willard, CEO of Evanston Regional, will present on Becoming A Critical Access Hospital for the Monthly Affiliate Call. Dr. Ted Kimball, Medical Director of the Office of Network Development and Telehealth, will then lead a discussion. CME credit offered.

STRESS INJURIES AND HEALING THROUGH COMMUNITY

Many healthcare workers experience stress injuries, caused by trauma, fatigue, or loss on the job. Jake Van Epps, PhD, MEd will address these experiences and the immediate recovery spaces in the upcoming event Peer Support: Stress Injuries and Healing Through Community. This virtual session will be held Wednesday, December 11th from Noon to 1 pm (MT). CME credit offered.

CALM: SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAINING

On Tuesday, January 14th from 5 to 6 pm (MT), the U of U Health Zero Suicide Program will present a suicide training focused on Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM). CME credit is offered and, therefore, can meet many states' requirement for an annual suicide prevention training.

On November 22, 2024 Dr. Leisha Nolen, the Utah State Epidemiologist, presented the Public Health Grand Rounds at McKay Dee hospital and virtually via Zoom. Her presentation provided an overview of the public health concerns TB, smoking, and long COVID.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

The University of Utah College of Nursing, through a HRSA grant, has developed 4 free Digital Badges to enhance nursing skills and improve patient care. These modules address challenges in acute care settings, focusing on social determinants of health, health equity, cultural sensitivity, and resiliency. Nurses can use these badges to highlight their specialized training on their resumes.
