Don't miss the only Art Walk this winter! Emerson galleries and shops will be open at 5PM, one hour before downtown galleries, with snacks and refreshments. Also, the opening receptions for our newest exhibits will be held in conjunction with this month's Art Walk. This is a fantastic way to spend a Friday night!

Whether it's enjoying free live music at Lunch on the Lawn, finding a  creative outlet in an art education class, being inspired by an exhibit, or enjoying any of the other magic that happens within these historic walls, the Emerson is here for everyone. Our entire community is enriched because of these programs and events but none of this is possible without your help! We rely on your generosity to help maintain our historic building, provide free exhibits, and enhance our art education programs.
Please help us continue to serve as a resource to the community by making a year end tax deductible donation to the Emerson.

Christmas Stroll at the Emerson
Thank you for including the Emerson in your holiday traditions! Last Saturday, the Emerson was filled to the brim with sugar, sticky fingers, and Christmas cheer! Guests enjoyed free gingerbread house making, live dance performances, tenant hosted activities, and more. And the hundreds of people gathered outside the Emerson had the perfect spot to see Santa light our giant tree and kick off the parade.
It takes a village to make all of this magic happen! Take a look at our Facebook Photo Album to see everything from the volunteers that helped build the kits and run the event, all the way through the sticky merry making of 525 Gingerbread Houses!

Main Street Montana by Edd Enders
December 7, 2018 - January 25, 2019
Edd Enders is a Livingston, Montana native and prolific artist who has had numerous solo and group shows world-wide. Mr. Enders was a perfect artist to compliment the Celebration of the Arts theme as his work identifies with ALL of Montana not simply the natural landscape. "I consider myself a contemporary western painter. I am not interested in portraying the West as it's commonly idealized with pristine landscapes and romanticized wildlife, cowboys and Indians. I want to portray human's inevitable activity and impact on this region."

Urban West by June Billings Safford, Kelsey Dzintars, Edd Enders, Noah Massey
December 14, 2018 - January 25, 2019

Urban West   was curated to compliment this year's Celebration of the Arts theme - Argentina. Argentina is known for its lively street scenes and urban artwork. We aim to bring that same vibrancy to the Emerson's Lobby this December and January. The splendor of our state's natural landscape is a prevalent artistic theme. To capture the beauty and artistry also present in our urban environments, we've invited these four artists to create works which exemplify the richness within Montana's cities.

Join us for the opening receptions in conjunction with the Winter Art Walk on December 14 from 5-8PM.

All of our galleries are free and open to the public.

Give the gift of art this holiday season! Gift certificates are available that can be used toward adult or children's art education classes at the Emerson. For more information or to purchase your gift certificate call:
