Hello Class of 2022 Families!

Winter Break Updates
COVID-19 Updates: Spring Semester Pre-Arrival Testing for Students
The Public Health Advisory Team has also developed the following pre-arrival COVID-19 testing plan for returning to campus for the Spring 2022 semester:

  • All students living in campus housing, who plan to attend in-person instruction or use university facilities, will be required to have a negative COVID-19 test before returning to campus. Students within a 30-mile radius of campus will also need to test negative.
  • W&M will provide each student a free COVID-19 PCR saliva test, mailed in advance of returning. It’s important to note that the COVID-19 testing group will contact students by email to coordinate test registration and shipments based on students’ anticipated arrival dates.

More information about spring semester pre-arrival testing can be found at the link below.

Supporting Your Student During Finals
Finals can be a stressful time for students so here are some things you can do to help!

  • Encourage Self Care: Remind your student to get regular sleep, take breaks, get outside, socialize, and eat regular meals.
  • Work Smart Not Hard: Break large projects/studying for exams exams up into sections, attend study sessions, & go to office hours. Don't be afraid to ask for help!
  • Moral Support: Call your student and offer words of encouragement, make sure they know you are there for them, and reassure them of their efforts.
