Reflection is more than thinking about what happened in class. It's an intentional pause - an opportunity for students to understand their progress, identify habits, and recognize the mind-body connection that Taekwondo builds. Whether learning your form or correcting your stances, reflection teaches us to slow down and ask:
- What did I learn?
- What challenged me?
- Where did I improve? Or, where do I need to improve?
This type of self-awareness shapes discipline, confidence, and focus in class & in life. When we begin to reflect, we can set realistic goals, track progress, learn from mistakes, celebrate small wins, and stay motivated through challenges.
This month, we'd like you to:
- Write down one skill you want to improve
- Write down a challenge you overcame in 2025
- Set a weekly intention
In November, we talked about how we write lists every day before we begin the day. Lists help us focus and manage our tasks, but they also give us boundaries and accountability for how we manage our day in order to be successful. These simple habits build the mindset of a black belt.
