About DADA

The Downtown Art District Association is an independent,

non-profit, community based,

volunteer organization.

We sponsor our First Friday Gallery Hops every month throughout the year. We depend entirely on individual and business donations in order to pay for gallery hop expenses, which include monthly street-closing permits

and off-duty police officers to look out for everyone's safety.

We also produce and distribute two monthly e-newsletters free of charge to members as well as to anyone who wants to be on our mailing list.

Contrary to the opinion of many,

we do not receive funding from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County government for these activities.

In keeping with our mission to support the arts in our community, we would like to offer a greater number of educational and outreach programs.

However, as a non-profit organization, we need your help in this endeavor.

 Greetings!

Ho, ho, ho, M-e-r-r-y Christmas! 'Tis the season to be jolly.   Share the holiday spirit and shop in the Downtown Art District for all of your holiday gifts this year. Not only are you buying locally, but you are helping to support the Art District.  And if you would like to help DADA continue to offer you exciting and safe First Friday Gallery Hops, give to the Dollars for DADA container located in many of the DADA galleries, studios, and shops.  Your small gift of one dollar will help support our all volunteer association and make it possible to continue working to enhance the arts in downtown Winston-Salem.

December is a beautiful time to visit the Downtown Art District. Christmas lights galore and shops and galleries filled with a wonderful variety of art and craft. You'll find something for everyone on your holiday gift list. And when you buy local, you support our city, a local business, and a local working artist. In the process you make the holiday season joyous for everyone.  Merry Christmas to all....
