Cigna Communication Update
Claim Appeals and Reconsiderations
On November 20, Cigna released a new feature on CignaforHCP.com. The new feature allows participating medical providers to submit claim appeals or reconsiderations, as well as check status of existing submissions.

The attached document outlines the step-by-step instructions for providers.

CAQH for EFT enrollments on EnrollHub 
As of November 9, Cigna no longer participates in the Council on Affordable Quality Healthcare® (CAQH) EnrollHub for electronic funds transfer (EFT). Providers who have been using CAQH EnrollHub will need to:

  • Confirm EFT enrollment eligibility with Cigna website access manager (To identify website access manager, call 800.853.2713);
  • Log in to CignaforHCP.com > Working with Cigna > Electronic Funds Transfer > Enroll in Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Options to perform these EFT enrollment activities;
  • Register for CignaforHCP.com; and
  • Use CignaforHCP.com exclusively to enroll in EFT or request changes to existing EFT enrollment

Centers of Excellence for hospitals - 2021 designations
Cigna's annual evaluation for patient outcomes (quality) and cost-efficiency for the Centers of Excellence (COE) program for hospitals is complete. On January 1, 2021, Cigna will update the provider directories (Cigna.com and myCigna.com) with hospitals’ 2021 COE status and profile information for up to 18 inpatient surgical procedures and medical conditions.

Coverage Policy Update
Effective for claims with dates of service on or after February 15, 2021, the American Medical Association, will be replacing the temporary Category III electrocardiogram (ECG) codes (0295T, 0296T, 0297T, and 0298T) with new CPT codes. As a result, Cigna will add the new CPT codes to the Ambulatory Electrocardiographic Monitoring (0547) medical coverage policy. This update will also be included in the First Quarter 2021 issue of Cigna's Network News.

Virtual Care Reimbursement
Effective January 1, 2021, Cigna will be implementing a new Virtual Care Reimbursement Policy for commercial medical services.
