It’s the most wonderful time of the year—everyone says it, and the songs proclaim it! As we joyfully prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus, we pray that amid all the hustle and bustle your families find quiet moments to enter into the beauty of Advent.
There are many festive feast days leading up to the Christmas season. In this issue, we hope to share a variety of ways to pray, celebrate, and heal as a family. In the Let Us Pray section, be sure to check out the Immaculate Conception Novena link and enjoy a free e-book from EWTN. You can also read an extraordinary story about Our Lady of Loreto and the humble home in which our Blessed Mother grew up.
In the Liturgical Living section, our friends at Dynamic Catholic offer a wonderful one-stop shop for holiday traditions. From explanations of Advent, to DIY Advent calendars, wreath prayers, and so much more, their resources can help bring this season to life. We hope you’ll take a moment to explore the links and share them with family and friends.
In the Special Events section, we bring good tidings for married couples! Discover the upcoming Marriage Tune-Up Weekend Retreats, sponsored by the Office of Marriage, Family Life, Faith Formation & Youth Ministry. Reservations are now open for both Spanish and English weekends. Spots fill quickly—see below for details. Make 2026 the best year yet!
As Psalm 34:18 reminds us, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” With all the preparation and celebration that fill this time of year, it can be easy to forget our brothers and sisters who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Whether through death or divorce, their hurt is real—often felt even more deeply during the holidays.
In the Hope and Healing section of Special Events, we highlight meaningful opportunities and resources to support those who are struggling to find joy during a season marked by loss.
May this Advent be a time of peace, reflection, and gentle hope for all.
