EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S CORNER

Greetings!

The holidays are once again upon us and we hope everyone is in fine spirits. Truthfully we should celebrate this holiday season all year long. The world would be a better place because of it. Love, Joy and Peace. To each of you Happy Holidays!

We had our first 2- day JUNIOR PLAYERS TOUR event this past month with the "HALL OF FAME OPEN" at the Slammer & Squire course. Many thanks to the Professional Staff at the WGV for hosting us. Coming up on the BIG TOUR is the "KING AND BEAR OPEN" on December 28th and 29th followed by the "FIRST COAST JUNIOR AMATEUR" being hosted at Jax Beach Golf Club on January 3 & 4, 2026. These are always popular events with some higher level golf opportunities and fully paid incentives like the JAGA First Coast Amateur and the Women's Golf Association Amateur. Some playing scholarships are also on the line. Both the boys and girls champion will received 1-4 AJGA PBE Stars with the top 3-5 receiving one each. The BELT is on the line as well. Cole Slater from Jax Beach was last years winner. Who will it be this year? We've got players from Michigan, Kentucky, Georgia, Flagler, Wellington, Port Orange, St Petersburg and St Mary's. It's going to be fun watching it play out this year as it always is.

We have a couple Holiday Camps scheduled at Queen's Harbour Yacht and Country Club, plus we're getting ready to kick off this years Middle School Golf Program. We're just waiting on the funding approval.

We're looking for another Foundation Partner and some event sponsors if you know of anyone wanting to help grow the game and support the kids. Due to the golf boom, costs are rising and we need more. I'm sorry to report some clubs have forgotten about our kids due to the ole American Greenback, but we are grateful for the outstanding support we receive from those who see the BIG picture of "These kids are your future".

All the best!

The championship rounds will air on tv on December 16th from 7pm to 11 pm. Join us as we watch the players tee it up.

2026 MIDDLE SCHOOL GOLF PROGRAM

TEACHING THE BASIC FUNDAMETALS, SUMMER CAMPS AND PLAYDAYS

Programing for the 2026 Winter and Summer Middle School Program is currently being reviewed but rest assured the program will be offered again this coming year. Keep watching our website, facebook and our newsletters for further information. Feel free to call any time you have a question.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER PROGRAM - 2025

_____________________________________

Our winter program will once again feature "TEACHING THE BASICS" for juniors wanting to learn the game and not yet ready to hit the golf course. Our mission is to teach all the basic fundamentals of the game including rules and etiquette, along with certifying the juniors to play golf.

The North Florida Junior Golf Foundation's Summer Middle School Golf program will kick into gear this summer with 15 summer camps at five area courses. During the summer we will also schedule eight middle school playdays at seven area courses for the kids ready to tee it up and gain some competitive, on the course experience.

Courses supporting the program this year will be Bent Creek Golf Club, Blue Cypress Golf Club, Brentwood Golf Club, Deercreek Country Club, Jax Beach Golf Club, Marsh Landing Country Club, Queen's Harbour Yacht and Country Club and the Yards.

Just give me a call if you would like to be part of this great junior program.

In 2025, each approved student was given a $200 camp scholarship to attend one of the 15 summer camps. More than 100 juniors participated in the events in 2025 and hopefully they fell in love with the game and will continue their learnings.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING JUNIOR GOLF!
