Message from Literacy Team
End of Year Virtual Celebration on 12/10

While we are unable to meet in person, we cannot break our tradition of appreciation!

Spend your morning with us on Zoom as we share highlights and insights of the year, and show off your merry mugs!

What's a "merry mug?" The contest--for all who would like to participate--just requires you to bring your favorite holiday mug to the celebration (or any mug that makes you merry). Whether it's filled with cocoa, coffee or tea, your mug is eligible to compete. Other activities include an icebreaker, guest speakers, and a special shoutout to Tutorfly.org.

Please make sure to include your address on the registration form so we can drop off a special gift to you from ENP.

RSVP no later than 12/04 by registering on Eventbrite (for link to register, click HERE). Event starts at 10 a.m. on Zoom at https://zoom.us/j/91699359597 (Meeting ID: 916 9935 9597).

Blessings,
Jenessa and Erika
We need some additional hands to help us package and deliver gifts for this celebration. You can volunteer on Tuesday, December 8th or Wednesday, December 9th from 9-12 at the LTC (1719 L St. Fresno, CA).

Holiday Writing Activity
Create-abilities made this cute activity to encourage creative story-telling and writing. Tailor the activity to your student's ability- just talk about the story, write the story together, or have your student write on their own.
IF you dropped off a literacy bag, your student should have a dice- if not, "pretend" to roll a dice together.

Whether you use this activity or not, make sure students are using complete sentences and using new vocabulary words. Language is key!
Literacy Mentor Spotlight
This semester, ENP Literacy Mentoring ventured into new territory and started a partnership with Quality Family Services Group Homes. We currently have five mentors working with high schoolers on their areas of academic need. No longer just sight words; we've got tutors helping with algebra, civics, and chemistry, too! Here are some quick snapshots of lessons with mentors Pramit and Genevieve.
