As winter settles in at Lake Lemon and the landscape shifts into its quieter seasonal rhythm, we extend warm holiday wishes to our freeholders and the greater Lake Lemon community. This December edition includes important updates on the Lake Lemon Conservancy District Board of Directors District II and VI election, a status update on the winter lake drawdown, and information on the 4th Annual Lemon Drop Polar Plunge, a now annual tradition that brings neighbors together in support of Lake Lemon’s ongoing stewardship efforts. As always, we value your continued engagement, care for the lake, and community spirit, and we look forward to working together as we head into the new year!

Lake Drawdown Update

The planned 3-foot winter lake drawdown has been achieved, and the sluice gate has now been closed.

Moving forward, lake level stabilization and refilling will be driven by weather conditions and precipitation events. Likewise, the overall duration of the drawdown will be determined by precipitation, and the District cannot guarantee specific timelines for refilling or the length of the drawdown period.

We hope freeholders are able to take advantage of this time for shoreline cleanup, maintenance projects, and to enjoy the unique perspectives and seasonal views of the lake that the drawdown provides.

Board of Directors Election

Nominations for District II and District VI director positions were due on December 1, 2025. Both incumbent directors, Debra Ladyman (District II) and Malcolm McClure (District VI), were nominated to serve another term.

Each district received a single certified and uncontested nomination. As a result, Ms. Ladyman and Mr. McClure will each be elected by default and will continue serving on the Lake Lemon Conservancy District Board of Directors for another four-year term.

Because both races are uncontested, no Board of Directors election will be held at the February 2026 Annual Meeting.

The Lake Lemon Conservancy District thanks Ms. Ladyman and Mr. McClure for their continued willingness to serve the District, and we look forward to our continued work together.
