Winter Crisis Program Application

Apply starting November 1st

The Home Energy Assistance Winter Crisis Program provides an annual one-time benefit to eligible Ohio residents for help heating assistance during the Fall and Winter months. The benefit is applied directly to the utility to bill to help offset utility costs.. The program runs from November 1st, 2024 to March 31st, 2025 or until funds are depleted, whichever comes first.

To apply beginning November 1st, residents must schedule an appointment with Community Action by calling 330-436-0261 or scheduling online at app.capappointments.com. For additional information, documents needed and Federal Poverty Guidelines, please click here.

Career Launch Program

Akron Children's Hospital Career Launch Program

Akron Children's Hospital Career Launch Program has program designed to remove barriers to obtaining a career in the medical field. The program will prepay all costs for tuition, uniforms, books, supplies and equipment, offers transportation when needed, mentorship, and placement. Careers offered include: Nursing, STNA, Respiratory Technicians, EEG Technician, Cardiac Sonographer, Pharmacy Technician and many more! For more information and to apply, please click here.
