Hello December,

The Amino Acid landscape continues to change. Only 2 years ago, I was able to purchase dry Lysine from 4 domestic Lysine manufacturers with a lead time of 2-3 weeks.  Today, only one has this convenience, though it is limited by monthly allocated amounts. The other 3 manufacturers have either dropped dry Lysine or only want to work with large end users.

Over these last 2 years the phrase “just in time inventory” has been replaced by “just in case inventory” Even though the news is reporting the west coast ports are no longer backed up, it is too early to work back to "just in time inventory".  As we look forward to 2023, there are going to be opportunities and shortfalls as the turbulent health of nations, people & livestock continue to affect product costs and availability.  I can’t say it enough, United States does not make enough Lysine, Threonine, Methionine or Tryptophan for the needs of our nation.  Because of this we are dependent on imports.

Opportunities right now include: (while inventory lasts)
1) FuFeng Tryptophan powder $3.42 lb.
2) Buying Zoetis and Pharmgate products before 2023 increases.
3) Threonine and Lysine look to go up in January. Threonine bags
are rumored to be in short supply until February or later.

Miracle on 34th street has always been my favorite holiday movie.  I was thinking about it recently and realized I have been practicing “The Miracle on 34th Street Sales philosophy” nearly my whole life.   The article below starts a little slow, but is a tremendous philosophy for life in general, especially for someone in a sales position like myself.

Best reads last month:
I found the first article funny, as I recently purchased a smart watch myself. The second to last line of this article is worth the read.

The second article is a lawsuit based on Agri Stats information from 2008 or 2009. On the surface it seems to indicate another attorney greed case.

After I read the third article on electric powered trucks it had me thinking. “When you factor in the number of hours driven with Class 8 trucks and the weight that they are carrying — although it’s only 1% of vehicle production, it’s over 20% of vehicle emissions and 36% of vehicle particulate emissions,” Musk said. “From a health standpoint, particularly in cities, this is a huge impact.”
How a piece of technology helps me stay healthy

Life is Simple: I’m thankful for my smart watch, but some advice it gives me is a bit over the top.

Did you know?   Willmar Poultry started PALS in 1955 to reduce their costs and assist local turkey growers.    Over time, the manufacturing similarities of poultry and hog equipment brought PALS into the hog business. So much in fact, that today PALS business is 65% hog related.
PALS sells primarily 3 things: animal health products, animal agriculture equipment, and building & repair services.
Animal Health:
Feed ingredients: While we supply several smaller mills, we have found we are a good secondary supplier for other distributors, mills and farms.

Disinfectants / Cleaners / Water line cleaners / Antibiotics / Water Solubles / Insecticides / Rodenticides / Litter Treatments

Equipment:
Our largest volume is in the hog industry.  Followed by turkey & chicken.   We
sell some cattle and dairy equipment; mostly feed lines and fans.
(We are actively trying to build this category)

Service:
Our in house teams work in all service areas. We work closely with several subcontractors
on installation and service work.    want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)
We run route trucks 5 days a week. We also utilize direct shipping. It can be one box, pallets, or full truckloads.
