We usually hear "what's that building?". This month, it was "what's that zoning change?". Let us help answer that!

What's the "South CBD Rezone" in Beatrice?



During a City Council meeting on December 3, the City of Beatrice adopted a series of ordinances to address zoning issues on South 6th Street.

According to the City, "the proposed rezoning of the south portion of the Central Business district (CBD) would result in that area being zoned more consistently with actual uses." Currently, the area in question is not being used as CBD and will be changed to General Commercial designation.

The most significant change is regarding setbacks - in CBD, there are none. The change under "General Commercial" now requires 15 feet front, 10 feet side, and 10 feet rear setbacks, with 90% of the lot impervious (being covered with building or concrete).

NGage is placing an emphasis on international recruitment - and with good reason. Our Governor has also made it a priority for the State of Nebraska as a whole, and it's being noticed.

Congratulations to Governor Ricketts on his appointment by President Trump to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations.
