Homer's Highlight

Meet Nolan, A Bright Star Aiming for the Moon!

Nolan is a bright and curious 10-year-old with a dazzling personality and a love for learning. Recently, he was thrilled to discover his IQ is 115 after testing at school. Over the summer, Nolan showed off his incredible memory by identifying 193 of the world’s flags to win a contest—an amazing accomplishment!

But don’t let his smarts fool you—Nolan knows how to keep everyone laughing with his quick wit and playful sense of humor. He’s also a super fan of video game characters, diving deep into the lore of Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario, and Kirby. His ability to recount every detail about his favorite characters makes him the ultimate gaming buddy!

Nolan’s Journey

Nolan was diagnosed with Autism at age 4. His parents, Melanie and Dan, noticed early verbal delays and worked tirelessly to ensure he had access to the support he needed. Through speech and behavioral therapy at ACEs in Petaluma, Nolan has made remarkable progress. Now in 5th grade at Corona Creek Elementary, he thrives in near full-inclusion classes, surrounded by supportive classmates who embrace his unique spark.

Outside of school, Nolan lives life to the fullest alongside his brother Harvey. Whether they’re bouncing at Rebounderz, visiting Nostalgia Alley, or enjoying the pumpkin patch, every adventure is filled with fun. This year, Nolan experienced the thrill of Super Nintendo World and splashed the day away at the wave pool—his favorite place to be—during a trip to Great Wolf Lodge.

Milestones and More

Lately, Nolan has been working on building confidence and making connections, and Miracle League has become a big part of that journey. His parents are amazed at how his skills are blossoming. Nolan now helps cook dinner, reads independently, and—big news—can even play Sonic the Hedgehog himself!

While the family jokes that Nolan will someday send humans to Mars, right now, he’s aiming for the Moon—and we can’t wait to see him get there!

Nolan, we’re so proud to have you as part of our Miracle League family. Keep shining, dreaming, and inspiring us all!
