"I was made to feel I could do things. If you get this feeling early and can hold it until you're 15, you tend to never lose it."

We wish you and your family the most joyous of holidays!  May the joy you bring to the children of our community return to you throughout the season and into the new year.  Your warmth, commitment and caring are gifts that have a lasting impact!

 MATCH HIGHLIGHT
Did you know we have a schools-based program at Widewater Elementary School?

Big Sister Chrissy Budai-Williams has been matched with Little Sister Macara for almost two years.  They meet once a week for school work, conversation and fun.  If Macara had her way, they would visit every day of the week!  Chrissy loves Macara's sweet smile and the way Macara tackles each assignment with enthusiasm, and Macara loves having her very own, special "Big Sister!"

BOTS FOR TOTS

The holiday season is upon us! With it brings the holiday spirit and good cheer! The National Society of Black Engineers Potomac River Professionals "Bots for Tots" campaign will begin. Help us bring a little joy to needy children in the community this holiday. On November 3rd through December 12th, we will be collecting fun and engaging toys that explore learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)!

All toys donated must be new and unwrapped.

On December 13th, the Rappahannock Big Brothers Big Sisters organization will receive the toys we have collected. They will  distribute them to the children in their program. We hope to bring a wonderful surprise to many children in our community and help them discover how rewarding and exciting it is to learn and develop their STEM abilities.

If you would like to make a donation, we have several drop-off locations and examples of STEM toys listed below, but all types of donations are welcomed and appreciated!

Drop off Locations:

PASSPORT TO MANHOOD

January Dates to Be Determined

Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility, while reinforcing positive behavior in young men ages 12 to 14. Passport to Manhood consists of 8 small-group sessions, each of which concentrates on a specific aspect of manhood through highly interactive activities. Each participant is issued his own "Passport" to underscore the idea that he is on a journey of maturation and personal growth.  This project is sponsored by Omega Psi Phi, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Boys & Girls Club.

Please contact our office at 540-371-7444 for more information and to complete an application.
