Mayor's Message

Aug 2018

Safety is a top priority for our community and pedestrian safety is something that my fellow City Council Members and I don't take lightly. The City continually looks for areas of improvement and is taking steps to keep pedestrians even safer on our streets and sidewalks in Castle Pines.

Recent pedestrian safety updates include the following:
  • New flashing yellow lights at two crosswalks that a pedestrian can activate prior to crossing the street.
  • Six new Yield to Pedestrian - State Law signs have been added to crossings along Monarch Boulevard to aid in crosswalk visibility.
  • The 2019 City budget includes increased funds to address even more pedestrian upgrades, including more flashing yellow lights at additional crosswalks throughout the City.
Drivers and pedestrians both have a responsibility to help keep our streets safe for everyone. Thank you for doing your part to ensure our community is a pedestrian-friendly City. I wish for to enjoy a happy and safe holiday season with friends, family and neighbors.

Sincerely,
Mayor Tera Radloff

Park Improvements Coming in 2019

Members of the Castle Pines Parks Authority, the City of Council Pines and the Castle Pines North Metro District, along with the Parks Authority Board of Directors, have authorized expenditures to improve park amenities within the City.

Playground equipment will be added to Coyote Ridge Park that is suitable for children on the autism spectrum and those with mobility limitations. There will also be an outdoor fitness court and other amenities such as benches, bleachers and dog stations. The location of the fitness court is still being finalized.

The Castle Pines Parks Authority plans to identify and prioritize additional projects with the remaining funds. This is exciting news for the community as the City and the Metro District continue to work together to enhance recreation offerings for residents to enjoy.
