SkyCenter One Groundbreaking
The nine-story tower which began construction last month will connect to the TIA main terminal via train - the same train that connects travelers to the fast-growing airport's new rental car center. The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority will occupy three floors of the building, covering some 112,000 square feet and will serve as the airport's new operational nerve center.  MORE

Four Westshore Properties Sold in Single Deal
Cushman & Wakefield negotiated the sale of a 756,038-square-foot office portfolio in Tampa for $156.9 million.
The portfolio includes five buildings located in Tampa's top two office submarkets: the Central Business District and the Westshore Business District. Properties in the sale include Westshore Corporate Center, Cypress Center I, Cypress Center II and Cypress Center III.
Midtown Tampa continues to make progress announcing the 22-acre district will include The Loft at Midtown, a three-story, 700,000-square-foot building that will provide ground-floor retail storefronts plus creative office space on the second and third floors MORE

TBARTA kicks off Regional Rapid Transit Workshops
The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transit Authority will hold three workshops in December to discuss their Regional Rapid Transit study. One of the meetings will be on Tuesday, December 10, 4:30-6:30pm at Corporate Center 3 (4221 W. Boy Scout Blvd.) in Westshore.
TBARTA's study is looking at bus rapid transit in the I-275 corridor from Wesley Chapel to St. Petersburg. One stop will be at the Westshore Intermodal Center. TBARTA plans to identify a recommended plan for service early next year and apply for federal approval in Summer 2021. For more information, visit TBARTA's Regional Rapid Transit page.

New bike hub installed at McKibbon Hospitality's Avion Park
McKibbon Hospitality, a certified Bicycle Friendly Business, installed the Westshore District's first bicycle service hub in the parking garage at Avion Park. The service hub includes bike racks, a fix-it station, and an air pump. It is accessible to employees and customers at the hotels, offices, and restaurants in Avion Park. Avion Park is a 10-minute bike ride from Cypress Point Park and access to the Courtney Campbell Causeway Trail. Tampa International Airport and Cigar City Brewing will be installing similar stations in the coming months.

Best Workplaces for Commuters awards open for 2020
The Best Workplaces for Commuters program honors companies who offer commuting benefits for their employees, from transit passes to telework programs. Applications for the program are being accepted until December 30. Winners of the award can receive technical assistance, training, and tools to promote commute options and benefits for their employees. The program is managed by USF's Center for Urban Transportation Research and National Center for Transit Research. It is free for Florida companies. For more information,   visit BestWorkplaces.org.
