CABE presents to 100+ at CSBA in San Diego...
CABE presented on Dual Language Immersion to a packed room of over 100 school board members and district and county office superintendents at the California School Boards Association Conference in San Diego on December 6, 2019. The presentation was conducted by CABE Board Members Olivia Yahya, President; Barbara Flores, Director of Financial Affairs; and Mary Helen Ybarra, Region IV Representative; along with CABE Staff Members Jan Gustafson-Corea, CEO and Cynthia Vásquez Petitt, Deputy Director. It was exciting to see so many board members and administrators interested in DLI!

On November 9 th, CABE San Diego South County sponsored a professional learning session, "Empowering our Community to Use their Voices!—¡Fomentar las voces para la Comunidad!" for parents, teachers, para-educators and administrators at Otay Ranch High School in Chula Vista. Mary Helen Ybarra, CABE Board Region IV Representative, attended and welcomed the large group of participants at this highly successful event.

Please save the date for our CABE Pájaro Valley's 3rd annual scholarship fundraiser on Friday, January 31, 2020. It will be a Concierto Folklórico featuring  Estrellas de Esperanza, directed by Ruby Vásquez, and  Academia de Música Ilusión, directed by José Camacho. It promises to be a wonderful evening of dance, music and culture exemplifying state CABE's motto of "Imagine, Inspire, Ignite."

The funds from the concert will be used for scholarships for local high school students of Pájaro Valley Unified School District. To help us make the night a success, we ask that you invite family and friends and help us publicize the event by posting and passing out the flyers:
