From the Dietitian: Dietary Interventions for Nausea

Many patients experience some form of nausea during chemotherapy and/or radiation. Nausea can be described as a "feeling of sickness in the stomach marked by an urge to vomit." 

The amount of nausea experienced can vary based on the chemotherapy drug, the dose, the frequency, and the duration of administration. Controlling and preventing nausea is important as this can impact your ability to take in food and liquids orally. Minnesota Oncology clinical dietitian Angela Stephens, RD, CSO, LD, shares some nutritional interventions that can be used to help control nausea. Read more.

Please join Minnesota Oncology in welcoming  Natalie Concannon, PA-C, to the team at our Minneapolis Clinic. Concannon comes to Minnesota Oncology from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

"As a healthcare professional in the oncology field, I strive to help patients navigate through the ups and downs of their cancer care," Concannon says. "My goal is to provide both the patients and families with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions regarding treatment and future plans. I care for each patient as an individual, always keeping in mind the importance of quality of life."

Concannon and her husband are originally from the East Coast, but she says they moved to Minneapolis to start a new adventure together. In her free  time, she enjoys spending time with family, running, reading, baking and exploring Minnesota.
