We Honor Veterans Level One Partnership Status Achieved
Veteran Saluting in Front of US Flag
East End Hospice achieved Level One Partnership status with the We Honor Veterans, a national program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. The progression to this level demonstrates a high commitment to Veteran-centric care in the communities the Agency services.

As a partner, East End Hospice provides specialized care to Veterans who are facing a serious illness. This includes identifying and serving the unique needs of Veterans, utilizing acquired knowledge to assist Veterans in navigating VA benefits, and honoring Veterans with special recognition through certificates and pinning ceremonies.

The resources of We Honor Veterans focus on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening, and grateful acknowledgment, coupled with Veteran-centric education of health care staff caring for Veterans.

America’s veterans have served our country with great honor, and we believe it is essential to show our appreciation. East End Hospice is honored to partner in the We Honor Veterans program.

Support East End Hospice
End of Year Appeal 2021

It’s been thirty years since East End Hospice received accreditation as a New York State-certified hospice. Since then, our commitment to compassion, dignity, and respect – the core principles of hospice – has improved the lives of our patients and their loved ones. Your support for East End Hospice touches countless lives here in our community and beyond.

In our first year, we helped 24 patients die at home.

Today, East End Hospice provides hospice care to more than 700 patients yearly, supports their caregivers and loved ones, and offers bereavement counseling used by more than 250 people each year. Our services are provided at no cost and are available to anyone in our community, covering 350 square miles from Montauk and Orient Points west to William Floyd Parkway.

The number of people we care for isn’t the only thing growing. The need for our services also continues to rise. Eastern Long Island’s population has surged. People are living longer with complicated health conditions that benefit from specialized care at the end of life. More and more people are seeking mental health and wellness support and finding limited or cost-prohibitive options.

More than 100 EEH employees, 160 trained volunteers, community partners, and you, our supporters, make it possible for East End Hospice to continue serving as the region’s leading and most comprehensive provider of hospice and bereavement services. Your gift to our 2021 Annual Appeal will help us improve lives right here in our community.
