Annual Holiday Hike and Cookie Swap
Saturday, December 12, 1:00 pm

Join us for walks in the woods, social time with appetizers, and the chance to collect some yummy Christmas cookies. Looks like we won't need snowshoes, so lace up your hiking boots or winter walkers and come on up to Eustis for the afternoon!

Our first walk will be on trails in the Cathedral Pines. Meet at 1:00 PM on Eustis Ridge Road. Turn left off Rt. 27 across from Cathedral Pines Campground. There is a small parking area, and roadside parking is available as you immediately turn onto Eustis Ridge Road. The trails are wide and flat, with towering pines overhead.

After our first walk, the plan is to drive up the Ridge Road to the Bickford's on Woodcock Lane. Follow Eustis Ridge Road to Overlook Drive, turn left, and then left on to 12 Woodcock, a total distance of 3.5 miles. We will then take a second hike through woods and fields from our house to the scenic vista on Eustis Ridge, a great spot for photos!

Back at the house, gather for apps, drinks, and cookies!

Everyone one is asked to bring an offering for appetizers (or $5 donation), and of course, your cookies if you plan to participate in the swap!! Looking forward to seeing you there!!

Range News
Weekend Trap Shoots are over for the winter.
It was "The Best Ever" season.

We have wrapped up the trap shooting at the range for this year and what a season it was - "The Best Ever" - as we had the most shooters and shot over three pallets of clays. Not bad considering we shoot trap for the most part one morning a week. Our membership at the range continues to grow, especially the number of trap shooters, and it is great to see their enthusiasm for the sport.

A special thanks to members of the range committee who make new shooters feel welcome, while offering tips on shooting safety and how to become more proficient at trap shooting.

We expect to open the trap range in late May, so come join us then.

The driveway will be plowed down to the warming hut and the new storage building - so those hardy souls who wish to target practice at the rifle or pistol ranges this winter will have a place to park off Route 27.
