What's New with The Bots?

Our new partnership in Cartagena, Colombia is off to a great start. We are partnering with the nonprofit organization Traso Colectivo and the Antonio Nariño School.


The Bots traveled to Cartagena in July 2024 to train the girls and teachers and to deliver donated robotics equipment and laptops. The girls continued to meet weekly to hone their skills during the final five months of the 2024 school year. In 2025, the program is poised to expand and enter national STEM-robotics competitions.

Student Spotlight


Lyvia loved our summer program at the Bronx Charter School for the Arts in NYC and is continuing to build her STEM-robotics skills during the 2024-25 school year.

Teacher Spotlight:

Damaris Ovalle, program coordinator

Damaris has coordinated the STEM-robotics program at the MIR School for Girls in the Dominican Republic since 2018 when we held our first in-person training at the school. Under her leadership, the girls have earned top awards at national STEM-robotics competitions. The MIR School is also starting a new Little Bits coding program with donated equipment sent by The Community Bots.
