A Winter Solstice Poem..

Shortest  Day   

So the Shortest Day came and the year died

And everywhere down the centuries of the snow white world

Came people singing, dancing, 

To drive the dark away. 

They lighted candles in the winter trees;

They hung their homes with evergreen; 

They burned beseeching fires all night long To keep the year alive. 

And when the new year's sunshine blazed awake 

They shouted, reveling. 

Through all the frosty ages you can hear them Echoing behind us listen!

All the long echoes, sing the same delight,

This Shortest Day,

As promise wakens in the sleeping land:

They carol, feast, give thanks, 

And dearly love their friends,

And hope for peace. 

And so do we, here, now, 

This year and every year.

Soothing Holiday Stress Meditation (9.5 minutes)

When you feel anxiety and need some relaxing encouragement and calming tools during the holidays, this meditation is created for you!

Winter Sleep Story: Claire and the Good Shepherdess (20 Minutes)

In Claire's Winter Day and the Good Shepherdess, Claire ​reflects on memories of winter and a Christmas Eve with 82 year old Hanna, the sheep farmer.

As Claire reminisces, it becomes evident that the theme for setting her New Year's intention centers on deepening her connection with the wise beings who have "gone before." 

This story is set to a classical piece by Erik Satie and performed by Sherry Shie, as well as another lovely track by Sabertone. Both from Pond 5. Claire and the Santa Lucia Festival of Light (22 Minutes)

This Holiday Sleep Story: "Claire and the Santa Lucia Festival of Lights" offers a meditative perspective on bringing light into our lives during this season.

On the first snowfall of the season, Claire reflects on the theme of light and the sometimes bittersweet nature of holidays present and past. She experiences a deep connection with Santa Lucia, exploring her legacy and the ways she continues to bring light into the darkness of winter and our world. 

Includes a whimsical visualization of connecting with Santa Lucia who is celebrated each year on December 13.

Who Are You Santa Lucia? (13 minutes)

Santa Lucia is celebrated every December 13th in many countries around the world.

The book is suitable for ages 6 and older (including grownups of course! )

Classic Stories for your Inner Child

The Christmas Reindeer Sleep Story

 Parts 1 (36 minutes) and 2 (42 minutes)

Based on the book written in 1929 by Thornton Burgess, this story is about an Inuit girl named Tuktu & her brother, Aklak who raise reindeer in Alaska. One day Tuktu follows the reindeer into the "Valley of the Good Spirit" and surprisingly discovers Santa Claus. He tells her all about the meaning of Christmas and together they begin an extraordinary adventure to bring love to the children of the world.

In Part 2, Tuktu continues her unexpected yet delightful connection with Santa. Eventually she learns how she can help him increase his fleet of reindeer so that he can reach more children at Christmas.
